Family-style, K–12

Open-and-go
Your choice of weekly or daily open-and-go lesson plans for 30 Ordinary Weeks and 6 flexible Festival Weeks (Advent, Reformation Week, Passion Week, Thanksgiving, and a Patriotic week) — built so that you can simply open the plans, read the books, and watch the wonder blossom.
A Living Heritage Day
Worship together.
Wonder together.
Every Living Heritage day opens with Together Time: family worship, a historic hymn and prayer from your history time period, a catechism question, Scripture by heart, and then either a piece of fine art, the gentle rhythm of a poem, a few minutes of Shakespeare, or some lovely classical music to start your morning. From there, the day flows into reading and narration appropriate to each child's group — connected by the same cycle of American and world history.
- Together Time — homeschool family worship + group beauty subjects (poetry, art, music, and Shakespeare rotation)
- Kindergarten — A short, gentle time of Bible stories, classic children's books, songs, and simple letter-and-number work. The K plan is the same regardless of cycle; Kindergarten does not study any certain time period.
- Group I (Grades 1–4) — engaging read-alouds, simple narration, American history first
- Group II (Grades 5–8) — independent books, written narrations and grammar begin, world history opens up
- Group III (Grades 9–12) — full-credit courses, writing instruction and narration prompts, living book lab sciences, go deeper with built-in video and audio helps

I ordered cycle 2 for my upcoming 2nd grade girl (we're just finishing up y1 of another CM curriculum) and as I'm looking through it I'm so excited to start this curriculum. And together time — don't even get me started. I was showing my husband what we'll be doing every day and he said, “What is this? I don't even care — make sure THIS is what you do next year.” It's so deeply rooted in the reformed faith and I'm so thankful that I won't have to sub out anything theologically sus. You can definitely tell how much time and care has gone into planning all of this. All that to say — thank you, Becky and Scott!

I just want to say how thankful our family is for this curriculum. I've been homeschooling for 11 years and this is everything I wanted and never found! I could go on for hours telling of how things have changed for the better for us.

I have pieced together our own curriculum from the beginning and am SO excited about having all of the wonderful, rich book selections done for me. I'm especially excited about the books on church history and leaders and the books that will help my kids grow in their personal walk with God. It's such a RELIEF to not have to question whether a certain book will line up with our beliefs.

WARNING!! Be prepared that your children may love these books and stories so much they may beg for them on repeat! I must say, I never would have guessed in my wildest dreams that my 7-year-old would be deeply invested in and intrigued by Hans Christian Andersen, William Shakespeare, and Beethoven, and would be able to grasp the deep concepts and dry humor. AND I'm shocked that I am enjoying Shakespeare, as well! It was always so intimidating to me and for the first time I'm really comprehending and enjoying it along with my daughter. It's blown my mind and I'm just so ecstatic with this curriculum!

Meet the Curriculum Designer
Dr. Becky Aniol
Becky is a pastor's wife, the mother of four — one already a homeschool graduate and three still being homeschooled at home — and a PhD in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her doctoral work, lifelong reading, and years at the kitchen table led her to create the curriculum she wished she'd had — Charlotte Mason in method, committed to sound theology and cultural conservatism, flexible school year with festival weeks, and complete from Kindergarten through twelfth grade.
