UPDATED Passion Week Guide for Homeschool Morning Time or Family Worship

Last year I created a guide for families to use during the week leading up to Resurrection Day. The guide contains daily Scripture readings (or alternate readings from my favorite children’s story bible by Catherine Vos), a passion hymn for each day with sheet music and audio accompaniment, a couple of poems (with notes) by George Herbert, a mini-study on Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, two paintings to observe, and two optional picture books by R. C. Sproul.

The guide is simple and Christ-focused. In accord with Reformed doctrine, nothing in the guide contains images of Christ, including the paintings (one of repentant Judas by Rembrandt and one of Peter’s denial by Caravaggio) and the picture books. This is still a FREE DOWNLOAD. It is my gift to you, in hopes that you will have an intentionally-focused passion week and that your children will better understand the gospel and the significance of the week’s events. All the content remains the same as last year, but I have updated all the links and QR codes so that you can easily use this guide from your phone or computer or print it, if you prefer. Most of the hymn accompaniments can now be found on the free G3 app, and that’s linked in the guide as well.
